Some say that one day, a large group of cyclists decided to stop for a drink at a German pub in the woods far from town. The landlord was not expecting so many visitors that day and hand not yet received his delivery of lager; it was hot day and the cyclists were thirsty – what was he to do? The landlord decided to mix what beer he had with the lemon & lime soda he made for children. Thus, was born a refreshing drink that combines the best of a refreshing lager with a thirst-quenching fruit soda. He decided to call the drink ‘Radler’, the German word for cyclist.
