FAQ

AIR MILES ®

Do I earn AIR MILES® on my regular purchases?
Yes. Get one (1) AIR MILES® reward mile for every $30 you spend (excluding bottle deposit and taxes) at participating NLC Liquor Store locations. Reward miles are awarded with each eligible transaction and will be posted to your AIR MILES account within 2 to 3 business days. AIR MILES® is not available on the purchase of gift cards or beer produced in Newfoundland and Labrador.
What are bonus AIR MILES® rewards?

Bonus AIR MILES® reward miles are available on selected products for a limited time at NLC Liquor Stores. While quantities last – while every effort is made to ensure products are in stock, NLC does not issue rain checks for bonus AIR MILES® offers. Bonus offers are available on products purchased in a single transaction and are subject to change without notice. NLC reserves the right to limit quantities. No coupon required. Allow up to 60 days from final sale purchase date for bonus reward miles to be added to your Collector Account.

Where do I get an AIR MILES® card?

You can visit www.airmiles.ca and register. When available, NLC also has sign-up kits in-store to make it easy!

How long does it take to see my AIR MILES® show up in my account?
For base miles, available on regular purchases, miles are awarded on each eligible transaction and will be posted to your AIR MILES account within 2 to 3 business days. Bonus miles may take up to 60 days to be deposited in your account, and may change depending on the rules and regulations pertaining to a specific contest or promotion.

Bottle Returns

Is there a limit on the number of empty beer bottles I can bring back to an outlet?

NLC Liquor Stores do not process the return of empty beer bottles.  Empty domestic bottles can be returned to Brewer’s Agents, who shall accept in return empty beer bottles equal to the amount being purchased.  The bottle deposit is $1.20 per dozen and must be refunded in full on all empties accepted.

Brewer’s Distributors must accept all empty bottles presented to them and return the bottle deposit of $1.20 per dozen in full.

Empty non-domestic beer, liquor and wine bottles are to be returned to your local recycling depot as per the direction of the Multi-Material Stewardship Board (MMSB) in Newfoundland and Labrador.  For more information on MMSB and the return of non-domestic beer, liquor and wine bottles, please visit www.mmsb.nl.ca/.

Check 25

What is Check 25?

All of our Corporate Liquor Store and Liquor Express Store staff is trained to provide service to those who can legally consume alcohol. Customers are asked to show government issued identification if they appear to be under the age of 25 years. Our staff will refuse service to those who appear intoxicated or who are suspected of purchasing for those who are intoxicated or underage. We take these measures to ensure that beverage alcohol is sold only to those who consume it legally and responsibly.
